IM 260607 Interim Accounting Senior Manager
Our Client is an international company operating in the apparel and sportswear manufacturing sector, currently undergoing an important internal transformation and organizational reorganization.
Due to the unexpected departure of a key finance leader, the Client is seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Senior Manager to temporarily take over operational leadership of the accounting function and ensure stability, continuity, and high-quality execution of all core accounting processes during the transition period.
The expert will focus on managing day-to-day accounting operations, leading the local finance team, and supporting the organization in maintaining reporting quality and statutory compliance while internal transformation initiatives continue.

Scope of Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee core accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and consolidation processes
• Manage and support a team of 8–10 finance professionals
• Ensure high-quality execution of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes
• Handle statutory financial reporting in accordance with HGB
• Support reporting under IFRS standards
• Maintain accounting quality and compliance standards during the transformation period
• Support regional finance close and reporting processes
• Cooperate closely with CFO and senior finance leadership
• Ensure continuity of accounting operations during organizational restructuring
• Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies where applicable
Client Expectations
• Proven experience in senior accounting leadership roles (Senior Accounting Manager / Finance Manager / Head of Accounting level)
• Strong hands-on knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB)
• Solid experience with IFRS reporting
• Experience managing operational accounting teams
• Ability to stabilize and manage finance operations during transformation or crisis situations
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Experience in international and matrix organizations is a strong advantage
• Business-level English -fluency
• German not mandatory, but nice to have
• Availability for regular on-site presence in Germany (min 4 days per week)

Important Context
• This is not a Chief Accountant role
• The main objective is operational leadership and stabilization of the accounting function
• The Client is currently focused on internal reorganization and needs an experienced interim leader to secure continuity and performance
• The organization is backed by an investment fund and operates internationally
• The role requires someone pragmatic, hands-on, and able to quickly integrate into an ongoing transformation environment
